ITS NAME IS JOHN

I was going to name this one Fred, but an angel appeared to me and insisted that I name it John. Rather than run the risk of being rendered mute, I obeyed. I have no idea why the angel insisted I name it John, but don't blame me if you buy it and feel the urge to repent from the habit of buying southern bred introductions so that your garden can serve as a test garden for hardiness. John has a super scape, although there are not a lot of blooms on each branch, lowering the overall bud count a bit. Your reaction to John will probably depend on how you feel about prominent midribs. I thought I had a better photo of John, but after failing to locate it on my hard drive, I realized the photo I was thinking of was on a slide from back in the day when I used slide film.
