I am not 100% sure that it is an evergreen as my foliage observations leave a lot to be desired. I made a note several years ago that it appeared to be an evergreen and I have notice that Betty's Pick throws a fair number of evergreens. Regardless, it has been quite hardy here in central Indiana. Sepals are often to curled to produce a clock spring effect.
